Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
So, for those of you who haven’t read the books I’m afraid you’ll have to go elsewhere for a synopsis. Suffice to say that the trilogy makes for great holiday reading and if like me you’re prone to reading thrillers late at night be warned; this book and its companions are pages turners and the chances of you getting much sleep are minimal.
So to the film, let me begin by saying that I’m glad I saw the Swedish version first. David Fincher is directing the Hollywood version next year with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara (Tanner Hall, Dare, The Winning Season, The Social Network) in the lead roles and although I’m looking forward to seeing how they approach it I can’t see quite how they’re going to capture the psychological atmosphere of Sweden well as their Swedish counterparts.
Tattoo Stages
Here are my last three stages of my tattoo - or should I say my half sleeve. I know what many of you are thinking - "Joe, we knew you were nuts, but this is ridiculous?" Don't worry, this is not the result of a three-day drinking binge or a dare by Shawn, I was contemplating this for a couple years. The tattoo is a koi fish swimming upstream and morphing into a dragon. Look it up if you need more explanation - but it has some shit to do with conquering your trials and tribulations, who knows - I just thought it looked cool. And it has increased my "P" Factor lately. Chicks seem to dig it.
And recently, one girl told me that it makes her want to "Lick me". So if you are thinking about getting a tattoo, the important thing is to do research into the artist, and PAY MORE (good tattoos aren't cheap, and cheap tattoos aren't good). I have one more session to add some more gray. I was upset last week because I didn't like the color but now it is growing on me.

Death Metal Tattoos: part 2
I wish I knew what this was, I really do. It looks like a totem pole of demons? With some kind of weird scarred-out blob in the middle. Is it a tribal-mutant batman logo? AND DO YOU SEE THE SCRATCHED UP FETUS ON HIS ELBOW? I mean really, how could you miss that? I don't even know what the stuff on his forearm is. If anyone can help decipher this, please let me know! I was staring at this guy for ages trying to figure it out.
